Hanoi Is Open 6 Streets For Pedestrians
The authorities of Hoan Kiem District have submitted the project “Open 6 streets for pedestrians” to Hanoi administration for approval. These streets are expected to open for pedestrians in late November or December, to connect with Hang Dao – Dong Xuan, which are already roads for walkers at weekend nights, to create a complete route for discovering Hanoi’s old quarters.

Located in the first-class preservation zone of Hanoi’s old quarter, Hang Buom – Hang Giay – Luong Ngoc Quyen – Ma May – Dao Duy Tu – Ta Hien belong to Hang Buom and Hang Bac Wards, where host many architectural works of the 18th and 19th centuries and many cultural relics.

The roads for pedestrians will serve Hanoi people and tourists three nights a week – Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 7pm in summer and 6pm in winter until 12pm.

These streets are also the home for famous cuisines of Hanoi and Chinese Vietnamese. Therefore, many foreign tourists come here to enjoy food and learn about Hanoi’s old quarters.

2 Days Trekking in Tam Dao National Park

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 24 October 2011, Vietnam Jeep Tours (VJT) has created new trekking tour to Tam Dao National Park in Vinh Phuc Province for the trekking enthusiasts.

As an average trekking trip, the first day is just a warm up trek from Tam Dao Park to visit Dragon Navel (Ron Rong), which is a middle point of 2 different pine forests and very beautiful falls for photo-hunt. Continue our walk to Love Valley to learn about the ecosystem of Tam Dao National Park – the combination fauna of species from both temperate forests and tropical rainforests. If lucky, travellers can see sore rare birds such as Black-breasted Thrush, Japanese Thrush and Fujian Niltava (often seen in winter).

The last day is more challenging with a climb-up by the rocky and steep jungle trails to reach Tam Dao Mountain for conquering the second-highest peak Tam Dao 2. Continue hiking and crossing short forests and bamboo forests to admire the beauty and richness of biodiversity of Tam Dao National Park. Another highlight of this trip is a pause at the ancient forest of Rhoclodentron Simmi with the most beautiful bloom of this forest is in January and February.

3 DAYS XUAN SON JUNGLE EXPEDITION

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 21 October 2011, Vietnam Jeep Tours (VJT) has organized one new trekking tour to Xuan Son National Park in Phu Tho Province for active travelers. This trip is a unique combination of both adventure challenge and cultural exploration.

The first day is just a warm up trek from the park gate into Du village about 5 km, where visitors can experience an overnight at their traditional houses (stilt houses), chatting with the local hosts to learn about their local lives with forests and observe how the local women cook their traditional dinners.

The second day is the most challenging day of this journey, we will conquer to the Ten Mountain (1000 km above the sea levels) by following a rough and rocky jungle trails. Reaching the top of the peak awards travelers an epic panorama of Xuan Son Jungle & Mountains. After lunch break and photo-hunts at this peak we will descend and walk back to Du village, where a warm dinner cooked by friendly hostess waits for us.

The last day of this journey is a long trekking day with distance 14 km to discover Coi Hamlet. This hamlet is home to Muong Ethnic Minority People and the remotest place in the Jungle with human existence in Xuan Son National Park. Arrive small Coi Hamlet, we cannot miss a visit at mysterious Coi Cave and a local lunch with their legendary food “Nine-Spurs Chicken”.

Leaving this Coi Hamlet for a walk back to Du Village and say good-bye to beautiful Xuan Son National Park before a car drive will take us back to bustling Hanoi. A second visit to This Park will be always open for us to visit other beautiful corners of Xuan Son Jungle.

6 Days Bike Central Vietnam

Travel Attraction: Xuan Thuy National Park

Travel Attraction Xuan Thuy National Park
Located in Giao Thuy District, Nam Dinh Province, the park is over 7,100 hectares, which 3,100 hectares is mangrove land and 4,000 hectares of mangrove forest.

Xuan Thuy National Park was declared Vietnam’s first Ramsar site in 1989, that plays a major role in preserving the ecological system and developing eco-tourism in the Red River Delta,

The site is famous for diverse fauna species. To date, more than 200 bird species have been recorded at Xuan Thuy and it is the most important staging and wintering area for migratory water-birds in the coastal zone of the Red River Delta. It regularly supports large numbers of commoner migratory water-bird species, including black-tailed godwit, spotted-redshank, heron, egret and pelican.

It is also home to 110 aquatic plant species, 500 species of benthos and zooplankton with some aquatic species of high economic value, like shrimps, fish, crabs and oysters, are also found in the area. Fish, shrimps and crabs provide the main income of the local community.

As the park has a rich and biodiversity coastal wetland environment, tourists will have many choices to explore. First, watching birds is an ideal option, especially from August onwards. At sunset, when returning home, you can see them hovering in the sky and twittering like an orchestra performing a sonata.

Travel to Xuan Thuy National Park, tourists can do some activities as:
1. Trekking: Tourists walk through forests to shrimp lagoons in Con Ngan and travel along small paths to a new village of Dien Bien and Tan Hong in the buffer zone of the Xuan Thuy National Park.

2. Boating: This tour is for tourists who do not have much time to travel around Xuan Thuy National Park and want to learn about general things of the park.

3. Bird Watching: the best time for bird watching is from October to March each year, therefore this is the perfect time for bird watchers to see a lot of migratory birds. If you are lucky you can see nine bird species to be found in the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red Book.

Etihad Signs Code-share with Vietnam Airlines

Etihad Signs Code-share with Vietnam Airlines
Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines have announced the signing of a new code-share agreement. From 30 October 2011, the agreement will enable Etihad passengers to connect from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, on Vietnam Airlines’ daily flights.

Likewise, Vietnam Airlines passengers from either destination will be able to connect through Bangkok to Abu Dhabi. Etihad operates a double daily service from the UAE capital to Bangkok.

Travellers will have 2 ways to fly from Bangkok:
1. To Hanoi: there are 2 flights per day that depart at 12.50 pm (VN830) and 19.05 pm (VN832) about 2 hours.
2. To Ho Chi Minh City: there are also 2 flights per day which depart at 11.30 am (VN850) and 19.30 pm (VN852) about 1 and half hour.

Direct Flights from UK to Vietnam

Direct Flights from UK to Vietnam
The first flight from UK to Vietnam is now accepting reservations for its first direct flights. The inaugural flight from London’s Gatwick to Hanoi airport will take-off on 8 December 2011, with the route being operated twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) that depart at 12.00 am (VN 144) about 7 hours.

The airline will also operate a twice weekly service between Gatwick and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), with flights operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays that depart at 12.00 am (VN 140) about 7 and half hours.

The new flights, which will both be operated using a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, will become the first direct air connections between Vietnam and the UK.

Hoi An is one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist attractions. The moment you enter the city, the mystique of a secluded ancient town, isolated from the modern world will make you feel you have travelled back in time, to the old countryside society of Vietnam.

Belonging to Quang Nam Province in Central Vietnam, Hoi An is a small town on the coast of South China Sea. Located at the estuary of the Thu Bon river, Hoi An was a busy international commercial port in the 16th and 17th centuries. People from Japan, Holland, India and various Chinese provinces settled down here during the same period. Travel around Hoi An, The Thanh Ha Pottery Village is considered the must-visit. As a famous example in this type of establishment that aims at furthering tradition as well as employment, this pottery village has a long historical legacy and it used to play an important role in the development of Hoi An ancient town. Another highlight of Hoi An is the fishing Village Thanh Nam (also called Con Chai), which is shaped by the beautiful Thu Bon River. Fishermen have come here for the longest time to cast their nets and catch prawns, crabs and fish. The fishing village is still active nowadays, even with the appearance of modern fishing ships working at far fishing areas in the East Sea. The village is just 3Km away from Hoi An ancient town and it can be accessed by boat and bicycle.

Offshore, Cham Island is one of Vietnam's most picturesque coastal spots. Despite its proximity to the world famous heritage site of Hoi An Town, the Cham Island offers unspoilt vistas and glimpses into a way of life that has altered little over the last several decades. When visit Cham Island, we should not miss its very tasteful “banh ich la gai” (a kind of cake) that existed in life of the Hoi An people for a long time. Travel Attraction: Tam Giang Lagoon

Tam Giang Lagoon is a Different Side of Hue
Deep into the immense blue water of Tam Giang Lagoon exits not only the world of aquatic creatures but also mysterious stories of the spiritual life of the local people in Tam Giang Lagoon area (Thua Thien – Hue Province).

With 22,000 hectares of water surface, Tam Giang Lagoon is the dating place of three big rivers, O Lau, Huong and Bo, before they run into the sea through the Thuan An estuary. To get to the lagoon, travellers can take a 30 minutes ride along O Lau River then pass through Bao Vinh ancient town and finally to Vinh Tu wharf.

The most beautiful moments on the lagoon are at sunset when it turns purple. A few fishing boats return home late with lines of casuarinas running with the skyline separating the water from the sky, with the whole lagoon’s surface shaking in the breeze. These are images that visitors have to capture.

The lagoon is also home to a number of birds’ species and a variety of fauna and flora species. The lagoon is also like a giant air-conditioning area, contributing to present storms in Hue City.
